Catalpa from Greenpoint—this version features a deeper bowl and a slightly longer handle, ideal for stirring or reaching into jars. The sweet golden wood tone, enhanced with beeswax and walnut oil, provides both durability and a warm, tactile feel. The wood was collected from a tree trimmer working in the back garden of El Pinguino restaurant on Greenpoint Ave in Brooklyn.
