There are 270 species of tree growing in New York City. Kevin Stanton turns them into hand carved spoons, spatulas, vessels, and kitchen tools — one piece at a time, using only an axe and two knives.
Every piece starts as found wood: collected after storms, rescued from tree trimmers, or picked up off city streets while still green and easy to carve. Each one is finished with food-safe walnut oil and beeswax. No two are ever alike.
